Work is no longer a place. That was the theme of Episode 8 a few weeks ago where Laurel Farrer, Nick Livigne and Sandra Panara did a fantastic job shining a light on the real estate trends we’re seeing and what that means for the future of cities.
Taking that to the next level, we’ve got another great panel lined up to discuss the Anywhere Office Of The Future. That anywhere office could be anything from a community space with childcare facilities and a cafe right beside where you live at home. Or it could be a beach office abroad overlooking a beautiful sunset view in the black sea. It might even be what Lazer Technologies are doing by creating a ‘travelling office’ that shifts location to global destinations.

The identity crisis of returning workers to ‘corporate offices’ who feel that the narrow expectations of wearing a suit does not represent who they are are and they no longer feel welcome in such a space. So they’ll just avoid the office.
Employees are taking back power in the dynamic between employer and employee. Apple employees have recently shown this with their rebellion and refusal to return to the office as prescribed initially by Apple. Employees want the ability to make decisions that are in the best interests of both them and the collective at the same time. Why can’t we have our cake and eat it too?!
Co-working spaces: Hotels are potentially better placed than traditional real estate agencies to deliver the on-demand requirements sought by infrequent office frequenters. hubli are looking to solve this dilemma for business looking for flexible co-working spaces.
It’s all fun and games until someone gets hurt…the necessity of companies to cover themselves from a legal and employment rights perspective ensuring employees have the right ergonomic set up. Otherwise they can expect short term disability claims. EOR’s helping to solve many of the employment hurdles of employees working overseas but importantly not covering the Permanent Residence (PE) risks which make trigger corporate tax obligations.
