Welcome To The Hire From Anywhere Future
According to a Qualtrics Report in April 2021, 80% of employees looking for a new job said it was important to them that their next job offer them the opportunity to live anywhere.
When we turn that around to the employer side of the equation, our Work From Anywhere White Paper indicated that 55% of companies believe that work from anywhere would be a core employee benefit over the next 10 years. Whether you look at this evolution from an employee or employer perspective, it is clear that we have arrived to the point where most companies realise the benefits of hiring beyond the 30km radius of their office.
Especially when you consider the abundance of different options to enable hire or work from anywhere, companies can no longer put their head in the sand especially if competitors are using it to attract a higher quality pipeline of international talent.
The Companies Allowing Work From Anywhere
Without further ado, below is a list of companies that offer international work from anywhere jobs. Only companies that promote their work from anywhere offering on their careers pages have been included, so if there are strong remote-first companies that are not included here, it might be because they’re not openly promoting this on their careers pages.
Are there companies that should be included below which are not listed? Then let us know!

*Note: Talent attractiveness is very subjective but is a combination of international remote work flexibility (e.g. days offered) and the ancillary benefits associated with it (e.g. Publicis offers home swap offering as well as an internal network to build connections and give tips to people working from anywhere in a destination country). It is also impacted by the destinations offered (e.g. Publicis offers options to work in 100+ different countries). If you feel your company should be rated differently, feel free to reach out to us to explain your hire from anywhere and work from anywhere policies in more detail and we’d be happy to adjust.
Hire From Anywhere Best Practices
The above snapshot from the Hopin Careers page is a really nice example of how you can make it really clear from the very beginning of the process what your hire from anywhere model looks like. It avoids confusion later in the process and helps the candidate understand what options are open in different countries. Likewise, Gitlab do an excellent job of showcasing their employment options in different countries around the world.
Work From Anywhere Best Practices
When it comes to work from anywhere (i.e. temporary international remote work), we really like how Publicis developed their work your world initiative. They go well beyond work from anywhere, incorporating home swaps and the ability to connect to local employee communities in the destination countries. We also like how Blueground give employees 14 days free accommodation in Blueground properties in addition to their work from anywhere benefits.
On the communication front, we like how clear and transparent Twitter are in making clear “sorry, no digital nomads”. This helps avoid the confusion of people applying thinking they can roam the world without triggering issues for the company.
What Is Missing For Remote Work Candidates
Looking to our list above, it’s a pity more companies do not make clear what the maximum number of days work from anywhere that they allow. Even if they have to qualify it by saying it is only for low-risk countries, it would be hugely beneficial to many companies if they were clearer to candidates what they do and do not allow.
Looking to the future of hire and work from anywhere, we hope that jobs boards like LinkedIn and others will make it much easier to search for:
- The number of days abroad an employee can internationally remote work (e.g. some companies don’t allow it, some allow it up to 14 days and some other allow it up to 90 days).
- The hiring models attached to each country that a company is open to (e.g. country A is legal entity, country B is contractor route and country C is Employers of Record, etc.).
